In 2008, Amendment 48 tried to define the term person to include a fertilized egg in our state constitution.

This Amendment was the first of its kind and was being pushed by a narrow minority with an extreme political agenda. It lost in every county in the state and 73% of voters rejected it.

The NO on Amendment 48 Campaign is a broad-based bi-partisan effort. The Protect Families Protect Choices coalition is the glue that holds the campaign together. We are nurses, doctors, religious leaders, community groups, and health advocacy organizations united to defeat Amendment 48. New organizations are joining the effort every day.
