Seven of Nine Ballot Issues Too Costly for State - Longmont Times-Call (10/6/10) - For most of the issues on the ballot this fall, cost is the name of the game...Amendment 62, which defines the word “person,” is an attempt at a do-over. Two years ago, 73 percent of Colorado voters rejected the personhood amendment. This is essentially the same amendment. While the amendment’s sponsors are sincere, voters have already spoken. Vote against. |

First, do no harm - Sky-Hi Daily News (10/5/10) - While amendments 60 and 61 and Proposition 101 have garnered the lion's share of publicity this election season (and will be dealt with in a separate editorial), several other issues adorn this year's ballot. Our approach to such issues can be summed up simply: First, do no harm. In other words, when in doubt, vote against ballot initiatives, and in particular constitutional amendments. |

Amendment 62 - The Pueblo Chieftain (10/3/10) THE LONG-STANDING war over abortion has been rekindled this election year in Colorado with Amendment 62 on the November ballot.
This constitutional initiative would apply the legal definition of “person” to every human being from the beginning of biological development — i.e. conception — for guaranteeing the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, equal justice and due process of law. It’s a clever way to say you can’t abort even a zygote — no morning-after pills allowed. |

Reject the return of "personhood" - The Denver Post (10/1/10) - A proposed amendment to Colorado's constitution seeks to appeal to anti-abortion sentiment among voters but would do far more than outlaw abortion in the state.
Amendment 62, commonly referred to as the "personhood" amendment, is a retread of a nearly identical "personhood" amendment that 73 percent of voters rejected two years ago.

No on Amendment 62 - Boulder Daily Camera (9/24/10) - Imagine you are pregnant, and you wake up in a pool of your own blood. Or you suffer the excruciating cramps that sometimes accompany a first-trimester miscarriage -- a common occurrence among pregnant women. You are admitted to the hospital, where you are met by police investigators looking into whether you had pursued an illegal abortion or had done something to yourself you make you spontaneously abort.
